RUNNING: Tattenhall Runners took to the hills for the Long Mynd Valleys Fell Race.

Conditions were perfect on a course lasting 11 miles with 4,500ft of climb.

Peter Taylor was the first Tattenhall runner over the line in 29th, breaking the two-hour barrier in one hour 58 minutes and 19 seconds.

Steve Hammond had a strong run to finish in 50th in 2:09.46, while Mark Smith came in 72nd in 2:16.22.

Jim Walker in 94th ended with a time of 2:22.39, Dave Sykes finished in 110th in 2.32.24, while Richard Kenworthy came 140th in 2:49.57. An ecstatic but tired Dave Carnelley was in at 157th in a time of 3:01.12.

In the Alsager Five-Mile Road Race, Tattenhall introduced new signing Jonathon Bushman and he raced to a time of 30 minutes and 35 seconds.
