HARRY Ellis has wrapped up his winter season in stylish fashion.

The West Cheshire AC distance runner represented Cheshire in the UK Inter-Counties Cross Country Championships, at Wollaton Park, Nottingham.

He strode his way to an impressive 11th position in the under 17 men’s event with a time of 20 minutes and 45 seconds.

Harry was first home for the Cheshire team who finished second with 86 points, just six points behind eventual winners Yorkshire and two ahead of third-placed East Scotland.

Harry was joined in the Cheshire team by club colleagues Louis Humphreys (98th in 22:17) and Alec Beaney (165th in 22:59).

Tessa McCormick produced a superb run to secure 18th position in the U13 girls race with a time of 13:54, ahead of West Cheshire club-mate Bryony Archdeacon, who posted 15:30 for 211th position.

James Ellis and Bradley Edwards competed for Cheshire in the U15 boys race. James completed the parkland course in 119th place with a time of 16:36, and Bradley clocked 17:11 to finish in 190th position.

Kate Titlow completed West Cheshire’s contingent at the East Midlands event, finishing the U17 ladies event in 147th place with a time of 21:48.

West Cheshire AC will host two rounds in the four-round Cheshire Track and Field League at Cheshire Oaks High School.

The club open their Cheshire League campaign at Stockport’s Woodbank Park, on Sunday, April 20, and West Cheshire will host the second round in Ellesmere Port on Sunday, July 13.

West Cheshire travel to the Bebington Oval for their third round on Sunday, July 13, and host the final round in Ellesmere Port, on Sunday, September 7.

Fixtures this Easter weekend include the Salford 10k Road Race today (10am start), the Air Products 10k Road Race at Crewe on Sunday (10.45am start) and the Runcorn-Hale Five Miles Bridge Race, also on Sunday.
