THERE have been some good sized carp caught at Cheshire Fishing, Tattenhall, over the last week.

Chester’s Andrew Hanson fished steadily all day using soft pellet feeding micro-pellet, bagging 60lbs. His catch included carp weighing up to 4lbs and silvers to 1lb.

The best trout of the week was caught by Carl Clewley, of Burton, near Rossett. He used a size 16 black and red buzzer to lure an immense rainbow in excess of 10lbs.

Treetops Fishery, Llanfynydd, has also reported a number of big trout caught. Mark Field, of Chester, landed the best. Weighing exactly 8lbs, his superb rainbow fell to a damsel fly nymph on the Twin Island Pool. Farndon’s John Newcombe landed a 5lb 13oz rainbow on a white fritz from the Badger Set Pool.

In Sunday Open match at Hampton Springs Fishery, near Malpas, a great net of barbel weighing 56lbs 2oz gave Hoole’s Simon Loyley third from Willows peg 27.
