DARREN Scott ran a season's best 21.60 secs to win over 200m as his club clinched promotion back to the Premier Division of the British League.

The 37-year-old from Weston Point, Runcorn, but living in Frodsham, runs for Scotland and is the country's number one over the distance at open age.

His club Trafford AC edged out main rivals Sheffield in a meeting at the steel city's Woodburn track to finish top of Division One.

This weekend, Scott will be north of the border for the Scottish Masters Championships.

He has already won the British Masters Championship over 100m, clocking 11.06 secs into a head wind.
