CHESHIRE Police AC's match was won by Ellesmere Port members at the rock pool at Hampton Springs Fishery.

Mark Greasley led the way with carp to weigh 20kg and John Booth caught one weighing 12.04kg for second.

Bob Edwards showed the way in the Pegs AC match at Brookside Fishery. With a mixed 7-10-0, he saw off Les Jones' mixed 5-6-0 and Phil Loyden's 5-1-0.

Steve Openshaw netted the honours in the Thursday open match at Lingmere Fishery. He weighed in with carp, chub and barbel at 57-4-0, better than John Phillips with 55-0-0 and Dave Randles senior with 47-6-0.

Phillips won the Saturday match with a carp-based 60-10-0, leaving Jamie Swain in second on 41-2-0 and Dave Randles senior third with 29-1-0.

Chris Johnson of Ellesmere Port plucked 70-0-0 of carp and 4-0-0 of bream from the water at Four Oaks Fishery, all taken to paste or luncheon meat.

Ellesmere Port Labour Club AC fished from the boat Enterprise off Kilmore Quay in County Wexford, Ireland.

Marion Mazzano won day one with a 4-8-0 ballan wrasse. Day two went to Steve Abram with a 10-0-0 ling and day three was Gary Davies' with an 11-0-0 pollock.

Mike Flanaghan reeled in first place in the Wirral AC match on the River Dee at Holt. Dace and roach weighing 10-4-0 were enough to give him the edge over Mike Lewis with the same for 4-12-0. Third went to Bill Sharp and his 4-0-0 which included perch of 1-4-0 and 1-0-0.

Gary Sparks, 10, returned home happy after fishing the Burton Mere Fishery. The youngster fished the woodland pool and lured a 30-8-0 catfish and a 17-8-0 mirror carp, both to a spicy chicken boilie.
