THERE were some excellent scores as the city’s best young golfers went head to head at the Chester Junior Championships.

The annual 36-hole competition, staged at Chester Golf Club last Friday, featured 26 players from Chester, Eaton, Upton-by Chester and Vicars Cross golf clubs.

The boys champion was Adam Wilson from Chester with a score of 142 gross. Poppy Finlay from Vicars Cross was the girls winner with 158 gross.
