CREWE & Nantwich AC athletes Jade Bramall and Eleanor Cresswell have helped the Cheshire Under-13 girls team to the UK Final with impressive performances.

Gold standard shows from Jade in the eight-lap Paarlauf and six-lap and silver in standing triple jump, together with Ellie's gold in the 4x2 lap relay and great performances in shot and four-lap, took the Cheshire team to a sizeable victory in the North West Team Challenge.

Charlotte Mather gave a superb performance in the U15 girls long jump to win gold and help her Cheshire team get second place overall in their age group. The final is to be held at Birmingham's National Indoor Arena, in April.

Meanwhile, three of the club teams (U11 and U13 girls and U11 boys) have qualified for the North West League Sportshall Final.

Great performances by the U11s and U13s scooped the top positions at the last of the North West League Sportshall matches at Widnes.

The U11 girls and boys both won their matches by 11 points ahead of nearest rivals Macclesfield, while the U13 girls won by a margin of 13 points from second place Warrington.

All three age groups now go forward to the North West Sportshall Final at Robin Park on March 18. The U11 girls qualified in first place.

Chairman Stephen Matthews said: 'This is fantastic news and no less than the club and its junior athletes deserve after all the training and dedication shown throughout the winter.'
