SWIMMING: Ten City of Chester swimmers turned in excellent displays in the City of Liverpool distance meet, held at Everton Park. Between them, they collected 19 gold medals, nine silvers and six bronzes.
Sarah Eaglesham, 13, won gold and gained national qualifying times in 200m backstroke and 400m individual medley. She took silver in the 200m front crawl and 1,500m front crawl, which is a newly-introduced event for girls.
Taking first position in this event was team-mate Lucy Worral, also 13, who won in a national qualifying time.
In the same age group, Tom Allen collected five gold medals in the 200m freestyle, 200m breaststroke and individual medley, 200m butterfly and 1,500 freestyle.
Hannah Phillips, suffering a heavy cold, swam well to win two silver medals in the 400m front crawl and 200m breaststroke.
Hannah Oldfield, 14, achieved five golds in the 400m and 800m front crawl, 200m backstroke, breaststroke and the individual medley. Hannah also bagged a silver in the 200m front crawl.
In the 15-year age group, Olivia Moxon swam to gold in the 200m breaststroke, silver in the 400m individual medley and bronze in the 400m individual medley.
Matt Humphreys was third in 200m breaststroke and 400m individual medley while Ryan Oldfield swam to bronze positions in the 1,500m freestyle and 200m backstroke.
Sian Roberts, 16, struck gold in all six of her events - the 400m freestyle and individual medley, plus the 200m freestyle, breaststroke, fly and individual medley.
Jason Boylan, 16, also feeling under the weather, swam in just one event, finishing third in the 200m individual medley.
Chester's Tom Allen, Sarah Eaglesham, Hannah Oldfield and Sian Roberts were awarded the 'top swimmer' awards in their age groups.
Olivia Moxon and Hannah Phillips took second position.
