WEST KIRBY treasurer Roger Glover pocketed the main prize in a Hilbre Class Open Meeting sailed in the Estuary around low water.
Three races were held and Glover with a first, a second and a third place in Highwayman had two points to spare overall on Joe Bethell in Hilsa. Steve Campbell aboard High Hat was third a further two points adrift.
In a Hilbre series race Peter Bramley had Hicotee in pole position whilst the final event in the Star Summer Series was taken by John Begley in Mercury with the overall prize going to Ian Eccles in Jupiter.
Hoylake had a poor entry for their Thwaites Trophy Open Cruiser race and there was no result as the wind faded away to nothing in the late afternoon.
Peter Jones in Carmen won the Opera Point of Air race.
Wallasey staged two trophy events. Ian Parry in Tern claimed the Commodore's Prize on Saturday and following up by winning the Charter Cup on Sunday when only two yachts finished due again to lack of breeze. West Kirby this coming weekend stage a two-day open meeting for GP 14s, Fireflies and Lasers as they take full advantage of the nine-metre tides on the Estuary.
