SANDBACH star Andrew Glover took an impressive fifth place at the Scottish Borders Hill Rally despite a shoestring budget.
The 44-year-old battles with teams with massive budgets on a regular basis. But along with co-driver Catriona Ratter, 18, they consistently upset the odds.
The pair powered the CRAG Racing-backed Landrover Discovery through tricky conditions to finish just four minutes and 10 seconds behind the winners.
Andrew said: 'To finish fifth in a field of very high powered and specialised vehicles was a fantastic achievement. We really enjoyed it.'
Andrew, a self-employed fencing contractor, has been involved in motorsport for 20 years and rallying for the past six. He began driving with Catriona, 18, from Knutsford, the daughter of his rallying partner Chris Ratter in the Crag Racing team, at the start of the season.
Andrew thanked sponsors Landranger Services of Middlewich, and his voluntary service crew for their help.
