VAUXHALL Motors have completed their pre-season fixture list by arranging a friendly against Wrexham.
Last season’s Blue Square Bet Premier runners-up will travel to Rivacre Park on Saturday, July 21 (3pm).
The Dragons made a strong bid for promotion back to the Football League in 2011-12, losing to Luton Town in the play-offs after finishing second in the table behind big-spending Fleetwood Town.
The Wrexham friendly is the eighth match to be added to Motors’ summer schedule.
The other seven games are: Tuesday, July 17 – Gap Connah’s Quay (A) 7.30pm; Tuesday, July 24 – Bala Town (H) 7.15pm; Friday, July 27 – Tranmere Rovers (H) 7pm; Tuesday, July 31 – Prescot Cables (A) 7.30pm; Saturday, August 4 – Hednesford Town (A) 3pm; Tuesday, August 7 – Northwich Victoria (A – at Flixton) 7.45pm; Saturday August 11 – Witton Albion (H) 3pm.
Motors will kick-off off their league campaign on Saturday, August 18.
The make up of next season’s Blue Square Bet North was confirmed at the Football Conference’s AGM on Saturday.
Chester FC are one of four newcomers to the division while Hinckley United have been handed a reprieve from relegation following the resignation of Kettering Town from the Conference system.
