ELLESMERE Port remain rooted to the bottom of West Cheshire League Division One after they went down 6-0 at home to West Kirby on Saturday.

But it was a better afternoon for the Port’s reserves. They got off the mark in Division Three with a 4-3 win at high-flying Christleton Reserves given to them by Sean Crosby (2), Chris Brown and Steve Cooke.

Neston Nomads and Capenhurst Villa Reserves both lost.

Nick Jones, Martin Coan and Alister Wilson offered the Neston replies in their 5-3 reverse at Belfry while Capenhurst were beaten 3-0 at Marshalls Reserves.

Capenhurst’s first team drew 1-1 at home to Maghull Reserves in Division Two, Iain Forster with their goal.

Willaston fell 3-0 at home to Ashville Reserves.

Ellesmere Port 3rds won their Chester & District League Premier Division derby at home to Whitby Athletic 3-0 on Saturday.

Luke Hunt, Mark Roberts and Mark Wilson shared the strikes as Port inflicted a first defeat of the season on their table-topping neighbours.

Darryl Freeman scored a hat-trick as Woodlands Santos recorded a 3-0 victory at Ashton in Division One.

Ellesmere Port Town (Steve Millington, Chris Colgan) triumphed 2-1 at home to Peacock 09 in Division Two; Neston Nomads (Rob Marrs, Josh Cooke, Kieron Wooley, Paul Fixter) 4-0 at home to Orange Athletic 2nds in Division Two.
