VAUXHALL Motors have bolstered their squad with the signing of an FA Youth Cup winner.

Huyton-born Michael Burns, 23, played for Liverpool in their 2007 Youth Cup success over Manchester United.

He failed to graduate into the first-team ranks at Anfield and moved to Bolton where he was a regular member of their reserve team.

A spell with Carlisle United followed before Burns dropped into the non-league ranks with Stafford Rangers and Newport County.

The former England Under 16 international, who can play in defence or midfield, has moved to Vauxhall after spending the last year with Guiseley.
