THE Motormen have begun their season without Karl Noon and James Coates, who have completed moves to other clubs.

Striker Noon has signed for Evo-Stik Premier Division team Colwyn Bay, while Coates has moved on to Altrincham in the Blue Square Premier.

Noon scored 23 times in 85 games for the Motormen after signing from Bangor City in 2008, while Coates was named supporters’ player of the year in 2008-9.

Goalkeeper Coates probably did not figure in Carl Macauley’s plans after the manager swooped for Forest Green’s Scott Tynan, but the departure of Noon will mean one less attacking option for the Motormen, who struggled for goals in the early pre-season games.

Macauley will have to hope that Obi Anoruo, who scored on his league debut for Vauxhall against Ilkeston Town at the weekend, can handle the pressure of being their chief goal threat.
