VAUXHALL Motors Reserves’ goalkeeper Jamie Holmes is facing a long spell on the sidelines after an injury which caused their game against Cammell Laird Reserves to be abandoned.

Motors were already 3-0 down in the Division One encounter when the incident happened in the 76th minute. Holmes badly damaged his shoulder and it was unsafe to remove him from the field before an ambulance arrived.

Motors have been warned that once doctors are able to have a proper look at the injury, Holmes may need surgery.

ELLESMERE PORT lost at home 2-1 to Heswall. Peter McNulty’s goal was cancelled out.

Strong West Kirby defeated CASTROL SOCIAL, but only 1-0.

In Division Two CAPENHURST VILLA suffered a 5-1 hammering at Ashville, Matty Singleton the only goalscorer for Villa.

Mossley Hill Athletic brought misery to another Port team, winning 2-1 at home to GRANGE ATHLETIC.

Mark Hampson’s goal for Grange not enough to spark a fightback.

ELLESMERE PORT RESERVES won their Division Three derby match at CAPENHURST VILLA RESERVES 1-0.

The only goal of the game came from Port’s James Maryniak.

Great Sutton Ladies’ under 14s enjoyed a 1-0 victory over Lymm.

Despite coming up against a very defensive Lymm team, Sutton took the lead midway through the first half after they were awarded a penalty for handball which Katie Priest despatched.
