VAUXHALL Motors Reserves marched on in the Cheshire FA Amateur Cup on Saturday.

They defeated Newton 4-2 in the fourth round of the competition, courtesy of goals by Peter Banasko, Ian Burrows, Jason Renshaw and Graeme Davidson.

In the West Cheshire League, Ellesmere Port tumbled to a derby defeat at Chester Nomads in Division One.The visitors, who are propping up the division, lost out 3-0.

In Division Two, Capenhurst Villa reserves earned a 2-2 draw at home to Helsby. Luke Eccles and Mike Banks netted for the hosts.

Leaders South Liverpool were too strong for Willaston, the away side running out 4-0 winners.

In Division Three, Tom Hockley and Damian McGinnigle netted for Capenhurst Villa Reserves in a 3-2 defeat at AFC Bebington Athletic Reserves.

The wet weather led to a number of postponements in the Ellesmere Port Sunday League.

Two games survived in the Premier Division, with Thorne Plumbing & Heating beating A&J Aquajet 3-2 thanks to strikes by Thelwell, Forster and Smyth. Lee Howard (2) and Liam Benson scored for Woodlands Athletic as they defeated Cat 3-0.

In Division One, Cheshire Yeoman ran out 4-2 winners over SCFC 94, their goals coming from J Johnson, M Roberts, L Reynolds and A Walker.

Sutton Marquis drew 1-1 with Hope Farm Rangers.
