VAUXHALL Motors are hoping the big freeze thaws in time to allow Saturday’s home match against Corby Town to go ahead (3pm).
The club has arranged a special two-for-one offer for the Blue Square Bet North fixture as part of a drive to attract bigger crowds to Rivacre Park.
Existing Vauxhall supporters will be allowed to take along a friend on Saturday and get him or her in for free.
Club press officer Phil Jarvis said: “The town of Ellesmere Port and surrounding areas needs to wake up and witness the high standard of football we have on our doorstep.
“This is an opportunity for existing fans to introduce Vauxhall Motors to a friend, family member or work colleague as we all seem to know someone who takes an interest in the club from reading the local press but never thinks to come and watch a live game. Now is the time to do it and bring them along for free.”
The club says this is a ‘genuine offer’ which must not be misused to allow two regular supporters to gain entry for the cost of just one.
Club officials will be making every effort to ensure the game goes ahead. Snow over the weekend and earlier this week may yet put the fixture in doubt.
The two-for-one offer requires the higher admission charge to be paid at the turnstile if concessions are involved. Match day admission at Rivacre Park is £10 for adults, £6 for concessions, £3 for students (ID required) and £1 for under 16s.
The Motormen were due to play two away fixtures this week – at Hinckley United on Saturday and Bradford Park Avenue on Monday – but both were postponed due to the wintry weather.
The Hinckley United match has been rearranged for Tuesday, February 5 and the Bradford game will be on Monday, February 18 (both 7.45pm).
