VAUXHALL Motors Reserves will be going all out to stop Ashville from claiming their third trophy of the season tonight when they take on the all-conquering Wallasey outfit in the final of the Wirral & District Senior Cup.

Kicking-off at 7pm at Cammell Laird’s Kirklands home, on paper Motors are favourites for the big clash as they play one division higher up the non-league ladder.

But Ashville have been causing cup upsets all campaign long and earlier this month they added the Cheshire FA Amateur Cup crown to their West Cheshire League Division Two title.

Ashville are also in the final of the West Cheshire League Haworth & Gallagher Bowl at Heswall’s Gayton Park ground on Wednesday, May 4 (7pm), where their opponents will be Capenhurst Villa.

Villa (Robert Hartley 2, Luke Eccles) won 3-2 at Hale on Saturday to pull further clear of the Division Two bottom two.

Having drawn 2-2 at home to Blacon Youth Club last Wednesday, Ellesmere Port (Peter McNulty 2) lost 2-0 at title-challenging Maghull.

Willaston (Paul Ellison, Josh Williams, James Jaggard) won 3-0 at Cammell Laird Reserves.

Ellesmere Port Reserves went down 7-0 at home to Division Three champions Runcorn Linnets Reserves.

Capenhurst Reserves (Hartley) lost 3-1 at Mossley Hill Athletic Reserves last Wednesday.
