VAUXHALL Motors chairman Alan Bartlam is delighted with how the club’s preparations are going for the hotly anticipated derby match at home to Chester FC.

Following a number of committee meetings, the Ellesmere Port outfit is putting its final plans in place for the all-ticket clash on Tuesday, October 30 (7.45pm).

With parking at the ground to be extremely limited on the night, Bartlam can now confirm that a coach-shuttle service to and from Rivacre Park will be in operation.

He said: “We have arranged for a shuttle service operated by Helms Coaches which will take supporters from Hooton Interchange to the ground and back again afterwards, whether fans travel to Hooton by car or train.

“We would encourage as many fans as possible to use this service. To park your car at Hooton costs just 80p and the shuttle service is just £2 each.

“The shuttle will be operating from 6.05pm that evening and in all there are 12 trips planned into the ground before kick-off, with the last one leaving Hooton at 7.35pm.

“We would encourage all supporters to get to the ground as early as possible to avoid congestion around the turnstiles.

“Please remember only those with car parking tickets will be allowed near the ground. And there will not be any parking allowed in the vicinity of the ground by order of the police.”

As an all-ticket game, fans will not be able to pay on the gate on the night.

Motors season ticket holders can obtain a match ticket on the evening of Monday, October 15 and any training night thereafter.

Tickets will then go on general sale after Vauxhall’s home game against Oxford City on Saturday, October 20.

They will also be available from the Lookers showroom on Rossmore Road from Monday, October 22 onwards (9.30am-5pm each day).

Tickets are priced at £10 for adults and £6 for all concessions.

Motors were without a fixture last weekend having been knocked out of the FA Cup.

Carl Macauley’s ninth-placed side return to Blue Square Bet North action on Saturday with a long trip to Cambridgeshire to take on struggling Histon (3pm).

Motors then travel to FC Halifax Town on Tuesday (7.45pm).

Vauxhall Motors have been drawn at home to Grimsby Town in the FA Youth Cup third qualifying round draw.

The clash, which will take place on Thursday, October 18 (7.30pm), is reward for Motors’ 3-2 win at home to Curzon Ashton last Wednesday.

Sean Cookson (2) and Shane Shaw shared the strikes.
