ITCL Gunners shot down Little Sutton’s hopes of progressing in the first round of the George Williamson Memorial Jubilee Challenge Cup.

The travelling side won 7-3 to send Sutton crashing out in the first round, despite a hat trick from Mike Urmston. Gunners’ goals came from Chris Gear (3), Chris Tew (2), Sam Davin and Tim Ferguson.

FC Sportsman’s put paid to Sir Roberts’ hopes of earning this title, beating them 3-1. John Lyth (2) and Barry Lloyd gave Sportsman’s a decisive lead, with Paul Murray offering the only reply.

SCFC 94 dropped out of the competition, losing 3-2 at home to Grace Reserves. Keith Robinson and Lee Hart scored for SCFC but Grace hit back through Scott Marley and Mark Knox before an own goal swung the match in Grace’s favour.

Westminster Reserves swept past Old Wirral Hundred into round two, winning 5-1 thanks to goals from Chris McNeill (3), Ben Powell and Jess Lonergan. Daniel Griffiths got a consolation goal for OWH.

Cat and ICTL Gunners Reserves proved inseparable after 120 minutes of football. They finished extra time at 2-2 with Paul Gates’ double for Gunners cancelling out Jake Lloyd’s for the hosts.

In the Shell Premier Division, Castrol Nomads got no favour from Grace as they lost 8-1 away from home. Grace scored through doubles courtesy of James Watson and Jay Keelan and single strikes from Steve Armitage, Scott Rowley, Rob Davies and Nathan Eccleston. In response, only Peter Bird found a way through for Nomads.

Woodlands edged their encounter with Castrol Villa 1-0 at home thanks to a goal from Ryan Nicholl.

White Swan held Wing Half to a 1-1 draw, a Paul Davies goal for the visitors ensuring a share of the points with Mike Murray finding the net for Wing Half.

In Division One, The Bull stampeded all over Rivacre, winning 8-1. The home side’s goals came from Jamie Livens (2), Garth Higginson, Colin Griffiths, Rick Fredriksen, Chris Doyle, Dave Griffiths and Jamie Gore. Rivacre’s goalscorer was Sergin Budak.
