THERE was a return to the Shell Premier League and a return to winning ways for Westminster on Sunday.

Carl Ngiam followed up his George Williams Memorial Jubilee Challenge Cup goal the previous week by scoring the opener in a 5-0 trouncing of SC Ellesmere. Mark Evans, Chris Yew and Tony Ashton scored for Westminster in a one-sided match before an own goal compounded the defeat.

Hugo Travel Marquis also scored five as they beat White Swan 5-1 at home. Winners in the cup last week, Marquis made it two wins in two weeks.

Ian Parry, Kev Vest, Scott Parker, Danny Higginson and Mike Jones were on target for the home team, while Phil Dowdswell hit a consolation goal for White Swan.

Sutton Villa and Grace shared a closely fought game, drawing 2-2. An Ian Kelly brace for the home team was matched by goals from Scott Rowley and Steve Armitage for Grace.

A Carl McLeod hat-trick and goals from Barry Lloyd and Simon Thelwell guaranteed an away victory for FC Sportsman’s at Wolverham. Robbie Manning grabbed himself two goals for the home team who won’t be pleased with the result.

In Shell Division One, Travellers Rest gave a much improved performance at home to Bull Wanderers, losing 3-2.

In the same fixture the week before, Wanderers ran out 3-0 winners. Wanderers’ scorers were Andy Bowen, Mark Roberts and Gordon McLeod. Rob Stockton and Phil Evans replied for Travellers Rest.

Kingkabs put eight past Old Wirral Hundred with Chris Dangon and Alex Harrison both scoring hat-tricks. Scott McAllister and Gary Lunt netted to complete the rout.

Hope Farm Rangers were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Sir Robert. Mike Gibb scored for the home side and Kev Gardner for the travelling Sir Robert.

Westminster Reserves couldn’t match the first team’s accomplishment and lost 4-1 at home to RBL Little Sutton.

Mike Urmston grabbed to goals which were followed up by Sean Jones and Steve Salles. Shaun Gratrix hit Westminster Reserves’ only goal of the game.

In the Kingkab Cup semi final, Wolverham Reserves scored an extra time penalty to beat Woodlands 1-0 away.
