ELLESMERE Port are still in danger of being dragged into the West Cheshire League Division One relegation places after they lost 4-1 at high-flying Marine Reserves on Saturday.

Mark Price reduced the arrears for Port, who had earned a 1-1 draw at Christleton last Wednesday.

David Smiley was on target for the Whitby Sports & Social Club outfit in that match.

Basement boys Willaston boosted their survival prospects with a 0-0 draw away to Upton AA on Saturday.

Mid-table Vauxhall Motors Reserves went down 2-1 at home to Southport Trinity.

Christian Banasko scored a consolation for Motors, who entertain Port tonight (Wednesday) in a derby clash which is scheduled to kick off at 7.30pm.

Motors then host Willaston on Saturday (3pm) before Port return to action at Chester Nomads on Monday (6.30pm).

Capenhurst Villa were beaten 4-1 at new Division Two leaders Hale on Saturday.

Nick Cushing offered the Villa reply.

Ellesmere Port Reserves drew 2-2 at Hale Reserves in Division Three.

Neston Nomads also drew, 2-2 at home to fellow strugglers Manor Athletic Reserves.

Dean Jones and Kevin Jackson got the Neston goals.
