FISHING: ROD'N'REEL dominated last Saturday's River Weaver open match at Northwich.
Winning the day was Mike Flanagan who took a bag of bonus 1-0-0 perch, skimmers and roach to weigh in 12-11-0, all taken to pole-fished caster.
In third place, Lee Saville ended the day with all roach to weigh 11-10-0.
Saville then went on to win his section in last Sunday's Heronbrook fishery open match, where he netted carp and chub to weigh in 28-0-0.
There was a large turnout for last Sunday's Willaston AC open match fished on the Shropshire Union Canal at Wardle.
It went the way of Neil Patterson, having skimmers and hybrids to weigh in 9-10-13. Runner-up was Bernie Leatherbarrow with all skimmers to put 7-8-2 onto the scales to beat Mark Wall with 4-3-2 of roach.
Les Jones was a runaway winner in last Sunday's Peg One AC match on the top pool at The Lloyds Meadow fishery.
His catch of small carp weighing 25-0-0 put him up front of Stuart Duncan, who included a 6-12-0 common carp among smaller carp for a 14-4-0 total. In third place was Brian Woodall with a single common carp of 7-0-0.
Ellesmere Port's Bill Jones again struck lucky last week when fishing on the Meadow fishery. The visit brought him a 5-12-0 rainbow trout which fell to a buzzer.
