CREWE ABC star Alfie Sackey qualified for Saturday's North West Counties Finals with an awesome punching display.

The cruiserweight powered through the West Lancs and Cheshire Finals at Everton Park Sports Centre, Liverpool, with a super performance.

Paired with Rotunda ABC's James Brown, renowned for his solid counter punching, he was advised by coach Joey Singleton to pressurise his opponent from the start.

And Sackey followed the instructions to the letter, winning a brilliant first round. The second followed the same pattern with Sackey scoring heavy body punches.

He dictated the third, forcing the referee to stop the bout for 30 seconds to check on Brown's health and wipe blood from Sackey's gloves.

The fourth round was a formality and helped earn the Crewe boxer a 5-0 unanimous decision.

He is in action at the same venue this weekend.
