Fancy taking in some live sport this weekend?

There is always plenty going on in and around the Chester area, so every Friday we be bring you this handy guide to when and where you can see sporting events in the city.

Here are five events you can catch this weekend.

1) Motor Sport Vision Racing at Oulton Park; Saturday, October 24 (gates open 8.30am, first race 9am)

A string of motorsport championships come to a conclusion at the Cheshire circuit on Saturday, including the VAG Trophy and MSVT Trophy for amateur drivers. You can pay on the gate (£14 for adults) and children aged 12 and under get in free. More info HERE.

2) Deva Athletic v Birkenhead Park; Little Heath, Christleton; Saturday, October 24 (2pm)

Chester FC are away at Altrincham in the FA Cup, but if you want to watch live football in the city there are a host of district fixtures to enjoy.

This Chester & Wirral League Premier Division clash should be a good one, as leaders Birkenhead tackle a Deva side fresh from beating West Cheshire League outfit Upton AA in the Cheshire FA Amateur Cup last week.

3) Ellesmere Port RUFC v Newton-le-Willows; Whitby Sports & Social Club; Saturday, October 24 (3pm)

The Oilers enjoyed a win at Mossley Hill last time out. They will be aiming for back-to-back wins in Merseyside (West) when they take on a Newton-le-Willows side just three points below them in the table.

4) Chester FC Ladies v Vauxhall Ladies; University of Chester (Kingsway Buildings); Sunday, October 25 (2pm)

A week after beating Chester City Ladies 3-2 comes another derby for Richard Smith's Chester FC Ladies. This time Vauxhall Ladies make the short trip from Ellesmere Port for another Cheshire Women's & Youth Football League clash.

5) Cheshire Phoenix v London Lions; Cheshire Oaks Arena, Ellesmere Port; Sunday, October 25 (5.30pm)

Will it be third time lucky for the Nix at their new home? John Lavery's men have lost their first two competitive games at their recently-opened 1,400-capacity arena. Thankfully, their form so far on the road has been good. This one sees fourth play fifth in the British Basketball League. Tickets can be pre-booked HERE.
