WAR Memorial returned to the Section One summit in the Barbara Rawlinson Memorial League after a 6-1 win over Pat's Angels.

The 'Warmy' followed up by also taking the Challenge game 3-2, their tons coming from Leanne Kearsley and Irene Bibby.

Bottom House did a 4-3, 4-1 double over Halton RBL with Dock Ladies overcoming Flights by the same margins.

Dock's skipper Freda Bate won single-handedly in the doubles.

She was one of three players in this match scoring a ton - the others being team-mate Joanna Davies and, for Flights, C Walker.

New Pavilions won both contests against Pavilions Wanderers by the narrowest margin, aided by a three-figure visit from A Leach.

Section Two's Tranny All Stars were 4-3 League winners but were on the other end of the scoreline in the Challenge, Pavilions winning 4-3.

Tons from Leanne Broady, Ann Percival and Ann Robinson were largely in vain as Fe-Lions fell to Raven - 5-2, 4-1 being the Hallwood Park pub's winning margins.

Burma had 5-2, 5-0 verdicts over Croft, who had found themselves two players short. Michelle Higham and Mary Cannon each scored a hundred for the Halton Brook victors, while Angie Phillipson replied with two to console their rivals from across the Spur Road.

A maximum 180 by Lisa Keelan helped Barge to defeat Ex-Pat's 5-2 in the League. However, fortunes were reversed in the Challenge as Ex-Pat's won 4-1, despite a ton from Chris O'Brien.

Clarry Girls overcame Wellington 5-2 but paid the price in the Challenge rematch which the Welly team shaded 3-2. There were tons for Karen Dowling and Karie Barker for Clarry plus Aud Thornhill for Welly.

The first round of the Knockout Competition has been completed.

War Memorial routed Welly 7-0 while Doreen Stooks took the decider for Flights, 4-3 winners over Tranny All Stars.

Raven edged out Dock Ladies while Halfway Aces stormed home 6-1 against Bottom House, whose only winner was Pauline Rowlands.

Maria Walton was the winning anchorwoman for New Pavilions, 4-3 winners against Barge.

Burma cast aside Pat's Angels 5-2 while Pavilions Wanderers and Fe-Lions had walkovers due to Croft and Ex-Pat's both being unable to raise a team.
