GYMNASTICS: A QUARTET of outstanding young gymnasts from Sandbach have qualified to take on the best in the country.
Amy Taylor, Nicole Watson, Hannah McBride and Carrie Smith - all aged nine - represented Sandbach Gymnastics Club at a North West qualifying event for the Grade 10 National Finals earlier this month at Warrington.
They wowed the judges with amazing routines on the bars, beam and the floor. Now the fabulous four are gearing up for the finals, which will be held at Birmingham on May 1.
Amy and Nicole will make up half of the North West team at the National Finals, after demonstrating a high level of composure and maturity throughout their routines.
Meanwhile, Hannah and Carrie performed well enough to qualify for the finals as individuals.
Coach Peter Aldous said: 'It is a great achievement to have four Sandbach gymnasts at the National Finals. It is especially significant that two of four girls representing the North West team are from our club.
'The girls put in 25 hours of training every week, which is a big commitment from them and their families. They are very dedicated and talented and I am glad their hard work is paying off for them.'
