AN Abbey Gate College student has enjoyed a summer she will never forget.
Abigail Lee, from Hargrave near Waverton, claimed an amazing four national championship victories in the space of two weeks on her pony Tulsk Lad.
The youngster started off by coming second in the working hunter class at the Cheshire Show.
That set her up for a week-long series of competitions at the Stoneleigh showground in Warwickshire.
Abigail qualified for the Trailblazers Championships for the working hunter, dressage and combined training classes.
She finished first in her working hunter class and became overall class champion, came third in her dressage class, then won her combined training classes to be crowned overall champion in both.
After a short rest at home, Abigail set off to Aston-le-Walls in Northampton to compete in the British Riding Clubs National Horse Trials Championships.
In the junior novice event, competing against 84 competitors from across the UK, Abigail produced a superb dressage display and then clear rounds in both the showjumping and cross-country.
That left her in a great position and, after a nervous wait, she was announced as the overall champion.
Abigail is a member of Burton Cheshire Forest Pony Club and Delamere Forest Riding Club.
