POINT-TO-POINT: The Flint and Denbigh Hunt has attracted a record entry of 235 for their meeting at Bangor-on-Dee on Sunday.

The figure is a 110% increase on the corresponding meeting last year and, because of the high number of runners, the Maiden has been divided into three races and the Restricted race has also been split, making a total of 10 races on the day.

Racing comes under starters orders at noon and is set to finish at 5.10pm.

The Flint & Denbigh event is the first of two hunts to be holding point-to-point meetings at the newly constructed course at Bangor on Dee. The Wynnstay Hunt is holding a fixture there on Sunday, April 2.

The two meetings had run at Eaton Hall since 1963 but the high costs of track maintenance prompted the move.

The new 18-fence course will be right handed over a mile and three furlongs.

Admission is £20 per car. There is also premier car parking available at £30 per car which can be booked via the racecourse on 01978 780323.
