EMMA Smith's trampolining career continues to blossom after her weekend runners-up spot in the Aalsmeer Flower Cup in Holland.

The 15-year-old from Wade Deacon High School was delighted with her second place after qualifying sixth for the final, which saw the best 10 entrants from across Europe and the USA do battle.

Emma, a former national champion gymnast, has enjoyed a fine start to the season.

It started a fortnight ago with victory in her opening U17s Grade One competition in Southampton.

She is in Birmingham this Saturday for the first selection competition for November's World Age Group Championships in Canada.

Mum Catherine said: 'Emma has to do two more qualifiers after this one so there is a lot of hard work ahead.'
