WHILE thousands of golfers go through their lives without notching up the elusive hole-in-one, Chorlton junior Andrew Royle has notched up two aces in just nine months.

Andrew, 16, had his first at his home club last summer as he worked hard to get his handicap down to 20 and achieved some trophy success in junior competitions.

His second ace came in a match against Chorlton president Rod Paterson on the club s 145-yard 13th.

Andrew's 7-iron tee shot flew straight into the hole but the ace was not enough to secure victory against the experience of Rod.

Chorlton already has the joint women s world record holder for aces in Jean Nield who has 10 to her credit and needs just one more to become the outright record holder.

Andrew said: "I've got her target in sight and if I could keep up my present rate I might just achieve it!"
