SQUASH: WITH several key players unavailable, Crewe Vagrants' teams struggled to make an impact in their latest round of North West League matches.

The firsts lost 4-1 at Bowdon firsts with only team captain Simon Walton managing to record a victory, a result which left the team sixth in Division Two East.

Vagrants' seconds enjoyed a 3-2 win over Bowdon seconds with Al Hughes and Mark Ormerod winning to set up a 2-2 situation, from which Pat Bevan clinched the result to keep the team third in Division Three South East.

The thirds went down 5-0 at home to Sandbach firsts but managed to hold on to fifth position in Division Four South, while the fourths lost 4-1 to Radbroke Hall firsts with Anthony Gilbert recording the only victory. Nathan Langley and Oliver Hudson helped Cheshire Under 17s to a 3-0 win over Lancashire, Cumbria and Durham & Cleveland in an Inter-County tournament in Durham the previous weekend.
