ANASTASIA Dobromyslova continues to reign supreme as the queen of darts after securing the third world title of her career.

The Russian, who lives in Ellesmere Port and plays for Cheshire, beat Lisa Ashton 2-1 at Lakeside on Saturday to claim her third BDO Women’s World Championship.

Anastasia, 28, said: “It was a really draining week. We were in bed for 11pm after I’d won. I’d played the semi-final on Friday and I was really tired by the Saturday. Happy but tired!”

Anastasia defeated Lorraine Farlam (2-0) and Trina Gulliver (2-1) on the way to the final, where she faced Bolton’s Ashton in front of the live ESPN television cameras.

The 2008 and 2012 world champion was looking forward to some rest this week before returning to action this weekend, playing for Cheshire against Kent in the British Inter-County Championship Premier Division.

Ellesmere Port has been home for Anastasia since her marriage to Tony Martin, himself a darts player. The pair met at a tournament in Holland in 2005 and married in 2008.
