WITH Runcorn Apec Taxis Darts League ready to stage its first two finals nights this evening (Thursday) and tomorrow night, two more deciders have been lined up.

This year's Town Championship final will be between Navvy and Halfway A, while Halfway Gents will face Tranny Lads for the Executive Competition.

Halfway A's initial priority, however, comes tonight when they face Albion in the Apec Taxis KO Cup final.

Sharing the spotlight at War Memorial Club is Section Four's Committee Challenge Cup showdown between Tranny Rovers and Bennett's Boys.

Tomorrow, the 'Warmy' hosts the finals of the Chairman's Challenge Cup (Albion v Navvy Lads) and Section Three's Committee Cup (Prospect Has Beens v Welly).

Play begins at 8pm in each case with the order of play being drawn before the start.

In the Town Championships semi-finals, Navvy defeated Albion 6-3.

Ian Deakin, Kev Jones and Peter Murphy handed Navvy a 3-1 lead after Paul Melia's 19-dart opener for Albion, who also took the fifth game thanks to Nick Hough (18).

Barry O'Connor, Ian Darlington (bull finish) and Steve Smith secured Navvy's passage and victory for Albion anchorman Colin Rigby was mere consolation.

Halfway A powered to an 8-1 victory over Union Tap for whom Norman Corke shot the only win third up. Successful for Halfway

A were Wally Done, Chris Taylor, Karl Windisch, Gary Johnson (16), Steve Roberts, Neil Connor, Wally Nethercott and James Brown.

Executive Competition hopefuls Halfway Gents put paid to The Burma's chances of reaching the final by winning seven of the first eight contests.

Anthony Hall and Karl Whitfield won the first two for the Gents before Mike Parr reduced the Halton Brook pub's deficit to 2-1.

The Burma then lost five in a row to Steve Russell, Brian Whitby, Karl Dand, James Baines and Steve McKay but at least took the last through Gerry Richards.

The other semi-final saw Tranny Lads win through in carbon-copy fashion against Wanderers. Ron Taylor and Tom Humphries struck early for Tranny Lads before Peter Brown responded.

Clive Daniels, Peter Revill, John Hillan, Andy Conroy and Steve Allen sent Tranny Lads well past the finishing post, although Wanderers' John Hannon took the last.
