CITY of Chester Triathlon Club competed in the Liverpool and District Cross-Country League at Arrowe Park on Saturday.
Recent rain made the surface underfoot very challenging as much of the three-lap 5.9-mile course quickly turned to strength-sapping mud.
Undaunted, Kelly Crickmore led the Chester Tri charge to cross the line in 39min 36sec as second female followed by Peter Cobb (40:15), Chris Morgan (42:02), Ruth Hetherington (42:15), Chris Loney (42:29), Dave Taylor (42:36), Chris Hulse (44:58), Sean Simmons (46:16), Chris Malpass (46:49) and Dave Brierley (51:07).
Meanwhile, in Busselton, Western Australia, three clubmates were tackling the formidable Ironman event. Richard Webster finished the
2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike and 26.2-mile marathon run in an excellent 11hours 15sec with Rob Holmes coming home in 12hrs 13min 2sec and Emer McCarron 13:33.59.
* The official results have now come through for the recent Snowdonia Marathon when Louise Cooper ran an excellent 3:16.08 over the formidable
26.2-mile course, followed by Magnus Walker (3:56.31) and Janet Frost not far behind in 4:11.25.
