BOWLS: THE top of the Frodsham and District League Division Two took on a new look in the absence of Helsby A from last week's fixtures.
Helsby B took over the leadership with a win over Egerton (George Aspinall 21-8), who scored enough chalks to move into second place with Helsby A now third.
Tiger's Head A stay fourth, despite a heavy defeat at War Memorial B (Mike Field 21-4). Subscription A (Norman Worthington 21-4) showed good form with a convincing home win over Goshawk B, as did Manley A against Castle Park B.
There was a close game at Norley with Tiger's Head B (Brian Capper 21-3) just beating Conservative Club A, despite a 21-5 from Harold Jannion for the visitors.
Division One leaders Red Lion A had their narrowest win of the season at Helsby D (Dave Evans 21-6), while Goshawk A moved back into second place with a full-house home win over Grapes A. Their best winner was James Lange by 21-5.
Red Lion B's full-house home win over Chetwode A took them up to third, while Castle Park A were too good at home for Willow Brook A, Alan Harmer winning 21-7 for Park against his former club.
Both Pavilions teams had good wins, the A side at Norton Arms A while the B team beat Halton A with the help of a 21-1 card from Ken Jones.
