RICHARD Saunders' Wirral and Chester Tae Kwon-do team took part in a charity fight night in aid of Clatterbridge Hospital's cancer research department.

Twenty-four teams from around the region went to Prenton Park in Birkenhead to do battle.

In front of more than 400 spectators, Wirral and Chester won the junior boys coloured belt division and the junior girls black belt division and ladies black belt division, as well as giving an exceptional account of themselves in all the others.

Team manager Richard Saunders said: 'All our students have done fantastically well, both in their skills and their attitudes.

'We've been working hard towards this event as it is a competitive meeting and it's great that we can showcase some of our talent while raising money for a good cause.'
