CARL Fletcher of Chester Tackle Locker took top honours in the Christmas Eve open match on the Hampton Springs Fishery.
Drawn on the Alice pool, he brought in carp weighing 56-12-0.
John Woodrow showed the way in Chester Tackle Locker's silver fish only match at Hampton Springs Fishery.
A roach-based 16-11-0 gave him victory on the Alice pool over Frank Doran and Peter Price, each with likewise for 13-13-0.
Geoff Grantham won the Thursday open match at Lingmere Fishery. His carp catch weighing 64-2-0 was too good for Steve Openshaw with a similar mix to reach 55-0-0 and Dave Randles senior with 44-8-0.
Alan Dewhurst was leader in the venue's Saturday match, taking carp to weigh 66-10-0.
That beat Steve Openshaw with the same for 62-10-0 and Mike Bretland with 43-8-0.
* Talks are nearing fruition between Chester City Council and an unnamed angling party who want to take over the lease of the town length of the River Dee.
Last April, the Chester Association of Anglers disbanded and gave up their lease.
It was offered to the Dee Anglers Association but they refused it, so since then the stretch has been free water.
The council is hoping the talks will result in an agreement early in the new year.
