DEFENDING champions Wings fought out a hard win at Snooker Centre by four frames to two to bring them within one point off the top of the Chester Snooker League Olympic Sports Division.
Lea Dagher, Gareth Allen and Simon Moulton put them into a 3-0 lead. Kevin Green comfortably beat Mark Jarvis to give Snooker Centre hope but James Coe easily accounted for Dev Phang as Wings claimed victory.
Leo Gorman made it 4-2 with a late win over Craig Formstone.
Third-placed Christleton B went to St Werburgh's United. Pick of the games was Colin Jones and Joey Wynne's close match which Colin won in the last frame, but the teams finished 3-3.
Conservative A's topsy-turvy season continued with a 5-1 win at CCO. High-scorer Neal Jones made a 90 break against Martin Dodd as Cons powered to victory.
Christleton A entertained St Werburgh's but were no match for the visitors who won 4-2.
Although Mattie Done won the first game for Christleton, Werburgh's stormed ahead by winning the next three frames through Neil Cardus, Dave Griffiths and Mattie Hewitt.
Upton RBL came away with a well-earned draw from United Services. Gary Morley ensured Upton a share of the spoils when he won the last game. In the final match of the division, St Saviours B defeated St Theresa's 5-1.
