VIV Schaus was crowned king of the greens in the 2009 Pioneer Cup.
The handicap tournament was played at Little Sutton Bowling Green on Saturday.
Castrol SL member Schaus passed Sid Taylor 21-15 in the first round to set up a quarter final against Jason Byrnes, who he dispatched 21-9.
The semis brought a tough challenger in L Ryan, but Schaus edged their encounter 21-17 to set up a final against qualifier Paul Lewis.
Lewis, of Ledsham Royal, had come through the preliminary round, defeating Tony Plant 21-9, before seeing off first-round opponent John Evans, also 21-9.
In the quarter final Lewis took on Vic Sharps and had a closer contest, winning 21-17 and in the semis he faced Russell Seymour, narrowly coming out on top 21-20.
In the end, Schaus’ quality shone through and he took the trophy with a 21-11 victory.
