Bowls: Vauxhall duo end season with double win

TOMMY LOWNDES and Russell Seymour rounded off the Ellesmere Port & Wirral Indoor League season on a high.

The Vauxhall duo teamed up with club-mate Neil Humphreys to win the final tournament of the campaign – the Triples competition, at the Electric Club, Capenhurst.

Lowndes and Seymour had also won the league’s penultimate event, the League of Friends Pairs.

In the Triples event, the Vauxhall trio of Lowndes, Seymour and Humphreys defeated Viv Schaus and Jackie and Sam Preston of Groves in the final.

The league’s presentation evening takes place this Friday at Groves Sports and Social Club. All trophies and prizes will be handed out on the night. Tickets are available from club secretaries and Kath Murphy from Groves Bowling Club.
