HOOLE Park Bowling Club’s Colin Feather Memorial Cup was won by home player Steve Curbishley.

Curbishley beat clubmate Gareth Blears in the semi-final to set up an encounter with Nicola Boulton, the Frodsham Red Lion bowler, who swept aside Kelsall’s Alan Bannister.

Boulton took an early advantage in the final but Curbishley fought back and emerged victorious.

In the Frodsham and District League, Division One leaders Grapes A continued their good form with a fine home win – albeit against lowly Goshawk B.

Red Lion A, in third with a game in hand, were too good at home for all but one (Graham Donnelly 21-4) of the Kingswood B outfit.

Red Lion B hold on to fourth place, despite heavy defeat at Pavilions B (Mike Ainsworth 21-7, Ken Jones 21-6).

Helsby D (Dave Watkinson) won at home to Castle Park A.

Norton Arms B had fine single-figure winners in a full-house home win against Subscription A which took them back to the top of Division Two.

Helsby B dropped to second with defeat at Willow Brook A (Percy Burton 21-3).

Halton RBL A (Warren Morgan 21-8) continue to lead Division Three after another home win – against Willow Brook B.

Chetwode B (Anne Brock 21-7) head Division Four after a home win over third-placed Helsby C.

Elsewhere, Manley B (Basil Southerton 21-4) had an easy victory at Kingsley B.
