ANGLING: CHESTER Tackle Locker's Mike Beaumont won the North Wales Winter League match on the Weaver at Hartford on Sunday.
He put 11lbs 3oz of skimmers and roach on the scales to finish ahead of Tony Dean, of Rod 'N' Reel, who had 10-8-0 and team-mate Rob Denny who took 10-7-8.
Rod 'N' Reel won with Chester Tackle Locker, who also featured catches of 5-5-0 by Paul Rose and 4-6-0 by Chris Morris, finishing third.
Fisherman's Tackle have improved their position to fourth in the Heronbrook Winter League after winning Sunday's match. Top weighers were Gary Bough, who won his section with 31-8-0 of carp, backed up by Winston Duckers with 36-4-0 and Steve Carrier with 30-8-0.
Winston Duckers won the Burton Mere Fishery open match with 38-9-8 of carp, barbel and skimmers from Simon Waller, who had 37-8-8 and Les Picken with 36-5-0. The fishery has started a series of Wednesday open matches with a 10am draw and a £16 fee. There is no bait ban.
Bob Carvelle was the only weigher in the Royal Mail AC match at Tatton Park with 0-10-0 of roach.
Hampton Springs Fishery has resumed Sunday open matches throughout the winter with a 9am draw.
Gary Green led at the end of the Willaston AC open match on the SU Canal at Wardle with 2-4-14 of tench, roach and gudgeon, beating Tony Tait's 1-9-14 of roach.

Les Picken won the Tarvin Sands AC match at Cheshire Fishery on Tuesday with 55-10-0 of carp, from Ellick Peters who included a 15-12-0 common carp in his 55-2-0.
Sam Kennedy had 44lbs of carp for third place. Shaun Sandham won the Thursday match on home water with 44-4-0 of carp from Picken's 22lbs and Phil Crimes's 10-6-0.
Brian Summerville was top of only two weighers in the Grosvenor Estate AC match on a private pool on Eaton Estate. A 0-3-0 dace gave him the edge over Ron Evans with a 0-2-0 dace.
Victory in the Rake & Pikel AS match on the aerosol length of the Weaver went to Steve King with a catch of small roach, beating Dave Spencer and Jeff Williams.
Richard Heron took the honours in the Lingmere Fishery Thursday open with a carp-based 47-8-0, ahead of Gareth Jones's 31-15-0 and Robbie Woods' 21lbs. Top in the Saturday match was Dave Randles Snr with a 34lbs mixture from Dave Lawrence with 26lbs and John Armour with 21lbs.
Malpas AC chose woodside pool for their final match of the year and victory went to Simon Coomber with 4-8-0 of crucians, roach and perch, beating Bert Roberts with 2lbs of roach and perch and Barry Jones who had 1-11-0. Top junior with 0-8-0 was Kevin Arrowsmith.
Ray Smith Jnr was top rod in the Castrol SAS match out of Port Dinorwic with a 4lbs bass. John Youde had a 3-8-0 bass and Andy Smith took a 3lbs bass.
FISHERIES NEWS Meadow: Paul Billing, of Heswall, coaxed a 5lbs rainbow to a montana.
Lake Hill: Chester's John Barnes lifted the top fish of the week, a 10lbs rainbow, to ledgered worm; Ted Matthews, of Neston, lured rainbows of 8-4-0 and 3-5-0 to ledgered worm; Neston's Gordon Ledsham coaxed a 6lbs rainbow to worm; and Brian Tudor, also of Neston, bagged a 2-8-0 brownie to a worm.
Milton Green: Wirral angler Ian Smith netted a 12lbs mirror carp and four other carp up to 5lbs using paste fished over pellets; and Will Thomas, of Ellesmere Port, took roach up to 1lb and carp up to 7lbs using maggot or caster.
Four Oaks: Teenager Michael Gawthorpe, of Saughall, took a 20lbs mixture, including a 6-8-0 bream, using bronze maggot.
Dearnford Hall: Ken Ouster, of Chester, netted the top fish of the week, a 9-9-0 rainbow to a sparkler; and Ellesmere Port's Steven Phillips found the top brownie of the week, weighing 5-1-0, by fishing a gold-headed cat's whisker.
