JOHANNAH Leedham paid a visit to the official residence of the Governor of New Hampshire after spearheading an historic season for her college.

Great Britain women’s star Leedham, 21, has sent records for scoring and rebounds tumbling ever since she started at Franklin Pierce College in the United States.

But this season the Little Sutton player’s exploits have played a major role in her team, the Franklin Pierce Ravens, becoming the first ever women’s team from New Hampshire to reach America’s National Championship finals.

They were only the third college basketball team ever from the state to get that far and the first from Franklin Pierce.

Despite losing in the final to Minnesota State University-Mankato in San Antonio, Texas, Johannah and the team were invited to Concord, New Hampshire, to the state house to be congratulated by Governor John Lynch.

They also attended New Hampshire State Senate and the state House of Representatives to receive credit for their achievement.

Another great season for Johannah ended with her being named in the ESPN Magazine Academic All-District team for the second year in succession.
