CHESHIRE Jets joined Leicester Riders and MK Lions in the final four of the BBL Cup with a shock victory over the Eagles at the Northgate Arena.

The reward for Paul Smith’s side is a two-legged semi-final showdown with the Lions, with the winners heading to the final at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham on Sunday, January 17

Shawn Myers (15), Chez Marks (14) and Colin O’Reilly (11) led the points scoring for the Jets, who trailed at half-time 34-28 before storming back in the third to take a 50-47 advantage into the final passage of play, with seven points from Marks and six from Frank Phifer doing most of the damage.

A Myers three-pointer put the Jets 59-57 in front with four and half minutes remaining of the final period before an Andrew Bridge basket levelled the scores.

Marks was then sent to the foul line and made one of his bonus shots before adding another basket to put the hosts 64-59 ahead.

The Eagles were not finished yet though, Reggie Jackson making both of his shots from the free-throw line with 33.9 seconds to play.

Jackson then put up a three-pointer from downtown as time expired, but his attempt hit the rim to send the Jets faithful home happy.
