WEST Cheshire AC’s juniors start the defence of three titles this weekend.
The club will attempt to get off to a flying start at the opening round of the North West Sportshall Athletics League which takes place at Robin Park, Wigan, on Sunday (noon start).
The purple-vested club’s youngsters have produced a series of impressive victories in the sportshall competition in recent years, including North West League victories last season in the under 15 boys, U13 boys and U13 girls age groups.
This weekend, West Cheshire’s U15 girls squad will be represented by all-rounders Alice Jennings, Danielle Erskine, Jenni Potter and Leah Ferrie and Alice McMahon.

West Cheshire’s U13 girls squad will include Cheshire multi-event champion Olivia Montez-Brown, who included a grade two long jump of 4.13m. She will be joined by Laura Rigby, Kelly Baker and Lucy Earl.
And the West Cheshire U11 girls squad will include Amy and Olivia Williams, Charlotte Williamson, Sophie Baker, Gemma Chatterton, Theresa Ann Corr, Toni Lammond and Georgia Barlow.
James McMahon and Elijah Montez-Brown will be expecting to combine for West Cheshire’s U11 boys.
Tom Kellett and Alex Kirk will be in action for West Cheshire AC’s U13 boys, while Adam Howell, Joseph O'Riordan, Michael Bailiff and Stephen Jones aim to secure success for West Cheshire’s U15 boys squad.
