THE Queen’s School won silverware at the West Cheshire AC Schools Track and Field Cup.

The competition, open to schools in the club’s main catchment area, took place at the Stanney Oaks track in Ellesmere Port.

Queens won the girls’ event, while Whitby High from Ellesmere Port claimed the overall title and also clinched victory in the boys’ category.

The winning Queens team comprised Hattie Williams, Georgina Alexander, Olivia Williams, Emily McBurney, Beth Jones, Amy Williams, Nia Jones, Emma Chow, Olivia Reynolds, Charlotte Allwood, Mollie Williams, Marissa Landy, Alex McNee, Aby Prothero, Ellie Jones and Fiona Stockton.

Georgina won the Year 7 girls long jump with 4.24m and Amy claimed a 5.21m victory in the Year 8 long jump, while Beth posted a winning Year 8 100m victory of 14.6 seconds.

Nia clocked a Year 8 800m victory of 2:50.8 and Olivia won the Year 9 100m in 14.5 seconds.
