OLIVIA MONTEZ-BROWN headed the list of northern England-based athletes at Stoke-on-Trent’s Northwood Stadium.

The talented West Cheshire AC all-rounder topped the list of North of England representatives and secured fourth position overall in the England Athletics Under 15 Girls Combined Events Championships.

She started her pentathlon appearance by clocking 11.29 seconds in the 75m hurdles, then long-jumped 5.09m, before hitting 8.64m in the shot.

Olivia then cleared 1.51m in the high jump and completed the competition by rounding 800m in a time of two minutes 35.20 seconds to compile 2,983 points.

The overall winner of the England Athletics title was Morgan Lake, 13, of Windsor Slough and Eton, who scored a new championship best and UK all-time best performance of 3,676 points.

West Cheshire AC clubmate Alice Jennings also made the trip to Stoke but completed only three of her seven events in the under-17 women’s heptathlon.

Dave McKay captured a bronze medal from the England Athletics Senior Track and Field Championships staged at Gateshead. He launched the javelin to a mark of 62.36m to secure third position in the senior men’s competition.

Amy Williams secured two top performances while representing West Cheshire at the third round of the Cheshire Track and Field League in Widnes. She registered a 5.09m leap in the under-13 girls long jump competition, and posted 13.1 seconds for her 100m.
