WEST Cheshire AC remain on track to clinch a Division One play-off place after they finished second in the penultimate Northern Track and Field League Division Two West match at Stanney Oaks Leisure Centre on Sunday.
Tom Booth, Dave McKay, Andrew McKay, Carl Van Schie, Michael Lyness and Aidan Stoakley grabbed men’s wins while Leah Ferrie, Bryony Potter, Nicola Bird, Nicola Gore, Caroline Gore, Niamh Reilly, Emily Fisher and Victoria Anderson boosted the host club’s points tally with victories in the ladies events.
Stoakley clocked 11.7secs for a 100m B success and Tom Booth 59.3 to race away with the 400m hurdles. Dave McKay hit 34.25m to top the discus B standings before winning the shot (12.09) alongside brother and B winner Andrew (9.66).
Van Schie claimed 6.39 for long jump joy and Lyness cleared a height of 1.93 to take the high jump.
Ferrie won the 100m B in 12.8secs and Potter the 400m B in 59.8.
Bird rounded the 3,000m in a winning time of 10.23.3mins while Reilly (33.53m) and Emily Fisher (32.77) teamed up for a double success in the javelin.
Sisters Nicola and Caroline Gore powered their way to victories in the discus and shot. Nicola posted 36.45m and Caroline 25.23 in the discus before registering 10.09 and 8.72 in the shot respectively.
Victoria Anderson won the high jump in 1.65 and the long jump B in 4.77.
The quartet of Emily Done, Danielle Erskine, Potter and a storming run from Ferrie secured an emphatic win of 4.07.8mins in the 4x400m relay.
