WEST Cheshire AC athletes had a busy weekend, with competitions taking place at Macclesfield and Trafford.

On Saturday, the Cheshire Schools’ Track and Field Championships drew together the county’s finest track and field prospects in Macclesfield.

Athletes who finished first or second in the under 15 and U17 events will go forward to the Mason Trophy inter-counties match this weekend.

West Cheshire’s seniors travelled to Trafford for the second of a four-match series in the Northern Athletics League.

The club won decisively to lead the table. Many of the younger athletes had also competed at Macclesfield the previous day, thus making it a very tiring weekend.

Richard Stocker had triple success with wins in the hammer, discus and shot.
